Announced today, to reduce a number of improved news supply stories that people tell us they often spam and do not want to see. Many of these stories are published pages deliberately distributing external news for more than they normally play. Our update focuses on three main categories of this type of RSS spam behavior.

As an Incentive

“As-bait” is when an RSS reader reading application that likes to share a comment or post to receive an additional assignment beyond which it will normally receive the post.

People often respond to messages, to take action to ask, and this means that these positions will show more people, especially in the news packets that are displayed. However, when you look at people and asked them, the quality of these stories they report to evaluate “inciting” stories are on average 15% less relevant than other stories with a similar number of people, comments and actions. Over time these stories lead to a less enjoyable experience to stifle Facebook and the content of friends and pages that people work on.

The improvement will be better than today to recognize these stories and help us make important that not appear in the news source, the most important stories of friends and other sites. Content often put into Circulation

Individuals and Facebook pages are often shared with great content, but people tell us that sometimes there are cases where photos or videos are uploaded to Facebook again and again. We have found that people are less likely to find these examples of general content, repeated, and are more likely to complain about the sites they publish frequently. We improved the news feed to emphasize this side, and our initial tests reveal that this change people are hiding 10% fewer side items usually does.

Spam links

For example, they often claim to relate these stories to a photo album, but to the viewer to a website with only advertisements.

By measuring the frequency with which people connect Facebook visit selected as the original message or replace the message with friends, we were able to better detect spam links. The update improves to do today to reduce the cases of news supply these links with spam and our first tests have a 5% increase of people on Facebook by going to the links that take them from Facebook. The context of the news service and is a good sign that people are in their most relevant and reliable information flow for the rest of the content.

Is this on my side?

The vast majority of Facebook feed junk publishers, so there will be adverse effects on people affected by these changes, and if they can see a slight increase in the distribution of RSS flow.

Small publishers who create spam feed often intentionally drop distribution together in the coming months. We are making these changes to make sure that the email content channel does not stifle content that people really want to see their Facebook friends and pages that interest them.
